I had this on the old forum and I thought to revive it...
List ANYTHING that suggests you've been around horses too much.
To "prime the pump":
You have done a kur on foot. (Guilty)
You tried to pay for something with an old carrot. (Guilty)
You click to people to get their attention or get them to move. (VERY guilty)
You think your car is going to spook.
You criticize people's "conformation".

I get really mad because the car won't "bend" around the turns on the road lol.
I also tell people to "ho" a lot. Which isn't good because they think I'm calling them a name lol.

You tink "www.hi-arabian.com" is a an Arab horse forum. (VERY, VERY guilty

When you hear people mention those cute different baby names, you think, aw that would be a nice horse to own.
(Names like, Rainbow, or Denedla, or Cherry) [Yeah, I'm weird]

Im guilty of these...most are to do with my dogs...I cant help thinking there so similar to horses =P :
When you tell your design teacher that you tacked up the sewing machine.
(Haha, I ment to tell her that I
threaded up the sewing maching

)
When you take your dogs for a walk and exlaim to your dad 'Did you see that? Todd just did a flying change!'
When you try to lunge your dog, but he just gets tangled in the lead.
When you walk your dog you use the lead like a rein, and squeeze down it to ask them to slow down...and it makes no difference. Lol I do that without realising all the time hehe.

You make sure your dog ticks high enough on the jump (guilty)
You pick up your poor doggehs feet like you would a horse and then get mad when they growl (poor maggie!haha!)
You click to your car
You talk to your car as you are going up a hill
You make fure your car isn't going to kick you

Sometimes I catch myself patting the Jeep when I walk behind it =)
I also noticed when the neighbor dog was 'cantering' on the wrong lead, then was excited when he did a flying lead change!

Feb 18 2008, 05:16 AM
Haha! I am veery guilty of all the dog ones!
You often discover you have hay in your hair and don't bother to take it out (guilty)
You spend more time on your horse's tail than on your own hair (guilty)
You love to write 'horse' or something related to horses in cool font in your binders, and you often draw horses on your math tests (guilty)

Baha, I think I'm guilty of all of these xD Except the dog ones, seeing as I own cats, not dogs.
You'll be sitting on the bus to school/work and notice there is horse feed all over your arm up to your elbow. I've done this so many times.

^^^Aahhh, best smell ever, next to saddle soap or horse bug spray. ("Me: *sniff sniff* *gasp* Who smells sooo good! Kaity: What? Me: Yooouuu! *points at Kaity* You smell like BUG SPRAYYYYY! ) haha, I am so weird. Yes, that happened... In front of Justin.
When your car gets stuck in the snow you say, "Come on girl, you can make it. Just jump." And your brother looks at you funny.
You think they should make a candle that smells like horse feed and mistakenly tell your non-horsey brother this. And he looks at you funny.
You free jump your cats and critique their horse jumping skillz. (Sodo wins all the way

.)

I call his paces "Walk, trot and Canter"
Yep, I get inspired for horse names when people are looking for baby names
Yes my favorite smells are horsey ones.

You notice that you don't walk straight down the "centerline" of the hallway and think of what you can do to fix this so you'll be straight. (dressage test overload! xD)
I do a lot of the dog stuff. Once I was walking my dog and thought that she had the perfect western jog. I also do the squeeze and release with her leash that doesn't work. I cluck to her, too.

Oh and we tried lunging, but that didn't work. She fell out waaay too much.

You find youself "jogging" or cantering every once in a while..
[haha so guilty. i love to try to be western pleasure!]

This morning when I was staring out the window in Algebra 2, I thought to myself, "They could fit one jump on the front lawn, and have enough room"
I also thought the other day that they could put some mats down and some dirt and have riding lessons in the gym at my church.... lol

I canter all over my house, and I switch leads as I enter and exit rooms
I find myself telling cars and people to 'yah'. Oh, and yesterday, we drove past this empty building, and I said, 'They should put a showjumping arena there.' Also, I avoided washing my hands Friday until it was time for lunch because they smelled like horses

When your friend isn't at school because of a cold, and your first thought is to mix them up a bucket of beetpulp XD
And I definitely canter and switch leads

I also always hold my hands the way you would around reins, and I half halt when I want to slow down, and move them when I turn around corners and stuff XD And I also half pass and leg yeild to get around stuff or move over

And all the dog stuff.... It all worked for my dog though o.O Like, she would slow down if I half halted on the leash, and she new all the horse lunging commands (she wouldn't lunge, but I'd just use them when she was on the leash usually). Geez, I pretty much do everything on here already

Yay horsepeople XD

Oh, and my bestie has been pointing out that I 'spook' at loud noises or quick movements. Like when I denied it, she screamed and clapped her hands in my face....I spooked. xD She was laughing at me for the next five mins and calling me an arabian.

OMG, there is a horse next door than looooves attention because everyone forgets about it and so I went over once (after I [not on purpose] washed my hands with apple soap) and it was like 'yeaaah!'. Then afterwards, I smelled my hands and I didn't want to wash them (MY KINDA PERFUME) but the horse was so greasey I had to.

When you watch the poeple in your school and define whether their 'gaits' are fluid enough to win a dressage test.
Also, When you tell your friends they culd be good showjumpers because their paces are fluent and they have good 'impulsion'.
When you go to open your school book and a dressage test falls out.
When you click to poeple to make them walk faster : ) I am impatient. my friends look at me strangley.
