Cavel International 'processes' equines for human consumpion in Europe and Japan. It is designed to kill 100 horses A DAY (2,000 a month, or 24,000 a year). Cavel's plant was destroyed by fire in 2002, then rebuilt in the same place (citizens in 2 different towns turned Cavel away-- see http://equineprotectionnetwork.com/press/il.htm. Cavel isn't even owned by Americans-- it is owned by a Belgian company, "Velda Group".
