Please note that not all
submissions are published. We review each article or story and make
the final decision on whether or not to publish. Below are some
tips to help you when considering submitting to us:
Types Of Writing
We Accept
As a general information site, we accept articles on just about
every horse subject. If your article is well-written, researched,
and informative, chances are we'll be glad to publish it.
Our Readership
We have 800,000 monthly views to our website. We also have a newsletter
with 25,000 subscribers and forums with over 8,000 members. If your
work is published, our viewers, subscribers, and members will all
be notified of your work. This is an excellent opportunity for young
or beginning writers, or anyone who runs a business, to get free
exposure to the horse world. You can put it on your resume, or have
us link to your site, bringing in visitors.
Quality Of Articles
The higher quality a story or article is, the better. Think of the
reader; does your article present something other horse people would
want to read? Articles can be based on personal experiences, research,
or a combination of both. Quality articles are checked over for
errors, provide information that our readers would value, and have
accurate information.
Republished or
original?
Please let us know if your article has been published before online
or in print. We will sometimes republish articles that have been
published online, but we prefer to use articles that have not been
published online.
Horse Stories
We are only accepting nonfiction stories. If you can, include photos
to illustrate your story. If you are submitting a story written
by someone under the age of 18, please note it. We sometimes publish
children's stories but please make sure they are checked for grammar
and spelling before submitted.
Length
Use your judgment as far as how long your article should be. We
do not have a length requirement, however articles are generally
not accepted if less than 400 words. If your article is very long,
consider breaking it down into different sections for readability,
or perhaps into different articles, as long as the readability doesn't
suffer.
Cite all sources
you use
Please cite all sources you use in your writings. Personal stories
or articles based on experience may be written with no sources,
but if you're researching an article include credit to all sources
you use. You may attach a "Works Cited" paragraph at the
end of your article; that is encouraged.
Plagiarism is not tolerated
The submission of plagiarized works is illegal and if we find your
work has been plagiarized we may remove the article and contact
the original authors so they can deal with the situation.
Payment For Articles
We currently do not generally pay for articles. Many writers submit
articles in exchange for free exposure on our site. If an article
is of exceptional quality and has never been published before, and
you wish to sell the article to us to be used exclusively on our
website, please let us know. If you are a freelance writer, trainer,
etc. looking to contribute a monthly article, please let us know.

We love it for you to include photos or illustrations with your
work. Please include all photo credits, such as the photographer's
name or a description of the picture.
